Ordinary cake can be transformed into an amazing photocake using edible images. Edible images are so easy to create and print and there are many interesting ways to use them. Creating the perfect printing on cakes is not too much of work as you might think it will be. It is a fairly easy tack to complete and that too with perfection.
So, Here Is The 3 Step Guide To Use Edible Images On Your Cake:
Creating The Perfect Design: The first step has to be the design, so, choose the image you want to use or create. Also, you need to make sure that the picture you choose is of high resolution because otherwise it will be out of focus when printed. The second thing is to ensure that the photo you choose it cropped to get rid of any unnecessary background. You can also select a range of pre-made designs from the ‘saved designs’ tab.
Printing: Now when you have finalized the design, it’s time to print. It is recommended to print on icing sheets rather than wafer or rice paper. If you do not own a cake printer, it is still not a problem because you can get to a local bakery or get your images printed and dispatched by a online printing store.
Application: This is a critical stage where things could go wrong. If you do not take precautionary measure in this stage, all your hardwork can be ruined. You have to treat the images correctly and try to go on the tested way to ensure application is easy and effortless. Prior to use, place it in the freezer for up to 1 minute. This allows the icing to dry out making it easy to apply.
Final Stage: Now you have to carefully and quickly peel the backing from the image. You will need to wet the cake slightly to allow it to stick if applying to a fondant iced cake. Go careful though as if it’s too wet the colors may bleed.
Note: If you’re applying directly to buttercream, you don’t need to add water unless the buttercream has dried out and formed a crust. It’s advisable to add edible images printed by cake printer at the last minute too minimise color bleed. In this case, simply spray with a little water.
Now, when you finish all the stages of making of printing on cakes, you are all set to make your party perfect.
